Pioneering has always been a hallmark of the Christian church. And today we stand on the shoulders of our predecessors in the faith, as we forge ahead into the future.

Wayside Sunday School (1950)

In 1950, a group of people launched Wayside Sunday School, a ministry that decades later has become Elevate Church. History has few details of their ministry, though we continue to draw inspiration from their pioneering spirit.

THE 1980S PIONEERS

Rivervale Church Of Christ In the 1980’s, under the pioneering leadership of Barry Thygesen, our current Auditorium was built, and two adjacent residential properties on Alexander Rd were purchased … leveling up opportunities for future generations.

The faithful vision and sacrifice of Rivervale Church of Christ pioneers has laid a foundation upon which we can ‘pioneer again’, and establish a Church of greater significance in our city.

IT’S OUR TIME TO PIONEER!

In 2015 Elevate purchased the property at 188 Kooyong Road , which provides us with 6000sqm of land in a prime location, at the centre of the Perth metropolitan area. Our church footprint is significant, in size and location, and God’s not creating any more dirt!

So with this legacy behind us and this opportunity before us … IT’S OUR TIME TO PIONEER!

To do this, our first step is to pay down our $700,000 loan.

THE WINS

Without this debt and the burden on our weekly finances, many things become possible, such as:

• Build on our heritage through ownership of our Church property
• Upgrading our facilities to better accommodate our Church community’s needs
• Releasing resources to create spaces of welcome and impact for our wider Perth community
• Redirecting and releasing finances to expand our local and Elevate Global efforts

And this is just the beginning!
