Beliefs

We believe that God exists in three eternal and co-equal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three persons are one God having precisely the same nature, attributes and holiness. He is the sovereign Lord, creator and sustainer of the universe, who Himself is without beginning or end.

We believe in his eternal existence as God, that he came to earth as a man, his mother Mary’s conception by the Holy Spirit, virgin birth and perfect humanity, his death on the cross in our place for our sin, his bodily resurrection from the dead, that he then resumed and continues his place heaven alongside God, and in his future return to earth.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives in every Jesus-follower from the moment of salvation. He provides the Jesus-follower with power for living, understanding of truth, and guidance in doing God’s will. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers us to use the spiritual gifts God has entrusted to us, and empowers us in our transformation to be like Jesus.

We believe that salvation is a gift received by faith in Jesus alone and expressed by a person’s turning away from sin, recognition of the death of Jesus as full payment for their sin, and acceptance of Jesus as Lord.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and that it is our primary authority for faith, that it is without error and relevant in its application to our daily lives.

We believe that people, both male and female, are created in God’s own image and therefore matter to God. However sin is a barrier to our relationship with God and impairs our capacity to know him, therefore we need to accept God’s free gift of salvation through his son Jesus.

We believe that there is one true church, comprised of people who are seeking to follow Jesus. The church is lead by those with leadership gifts and exists to introduce people to Jesus and encourage them to continue to follow him.
